Childlink, in partnership with the Cebu City Public Library, successfully conducted its Fiesta for the Children last January 23 (Friday). The activity aimed to promote reading literacy while celebrating Cebuโs rich cultural heritage.
Students enjoyed a storytelling session about Sinulog, one of Cebuโs most cherished festivals, which helped them appreciate local traditions through stories. As a creative follow-up activity, the children made their own Sinulog crowns, allowing them to express their creativity and cultural understanding.
The event also featured fun and interactive games integrating reading and word activities, making learning both engaging and meaningful for the students.
As part of this advocacy, 26 reading sessions are scheduled throughout the year to ensure that no child is left behind in developing essential reading skills.
