Cebu City, Philippines – The Z Club of Childlink High School in cooperation with the Zonta Club of Cebu II welcomed parents, guests, and students to a vibrant celebration of fashion, creativity, and environmental consciousness for the event titled Eco Couture: Loving Mother Earth with Style – A Journey to the Four Seasons. Z club President Zachary Gomez proudly announced the launch of the “I Love Mother Earth Movement,” aimed at encouraging proactive efforts to combat climate change.
In his opening remarks, Gomez emphasized the importance of sustainability, highlighting the Z Club’s partnership with teachers to educate fellow students on the “6Rs” of sustainability: rethink, refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and repair. “These actions are vital in our quest to show love and respect for our planet,” he stated.
The event featured a unique fashion show showcasing their shirts decorated with recycled materials. While the designs may not be traditional fashion excellence, Gomez remarked, “These pieces represent concrete steps we can take as a school community to act decisively in preserving our environment.”
The fashion show aimed not only to promote sustainability but also to encourage creativity among students—a crucial skill for navigating the challenges of the modern world.
Gomez invited attendees to join the movement, urging them to work collectively towards creating a more environmentally and socially responsible community. “This is our Linkers’ plea, let it be yours too,” he urged.
As the audience settled in to enjoy the show, the spirit of sustainable fashion filled the room, inspiring all to embrace eco-friendly practices.
The Z Club of Childlink High School continues to lead by example, showcasing that fashion can be a powerful platform for change and a call to action for a healthier planet.
